Insulating Lining paper is 4mm thick providing basic and effective wall insulation and resistance to condensation problems - as with 'Heatsaver', this product is treated with fire retardant. The product is supplied ready laminated to a reinforced liner for easier handling and to provide a basic surface that it is possible to paint directly although overlining is important to achieve a good finish and to improve the durability of the surface.

This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes inside your home unless the surface is further treated with a fire retardant covering. This product is class E fire rated and should not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building regulations are applicable.

Important Safety Information

Compliance with Building Regulations;
This product should not be used in isolation for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building Regulations are applicable. If used as part of a system that both adds to the insulation value and protects the surface from fire it may be compliant but expert advice should be sought.

Fire Safety
When used in isolation this product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes or on ceilings. Fire resistance can also be improved significantly by cross lining the surface with Wallrock Fireliner applied with Wallrock Fireliner FR Adhesive.

Preparation
Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing such surfaces.

  • R Value 0.1 m²K/W
  • U Value 10 W/m²K
  • 4mm Polystyrene insulation with bonded reinforcement.
  • For quick and effective insulation of inside walls.
  • Resists damp and mould formation on problem walls.
  • Twice as thick as regular polystyrene wall veneers.
  • CFC free.
  • Use a good quality ready mixed adhesive suitable for application of polystyrene wallcoverings such as our Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive.
  • Covers damaged walls and surfaces
  • Fire Rating: E

We strongly recommend using our Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive for application of this product, and can unfortunatley not accept responsibility for adhesion problems when an alternative adhesive has been used.

For the perfect finish, overhang with Wallrock Fibreliner ® or other suitable product from the Wallrock family.

Single length: 10m x 0.5cm coverage: 5m² approx

Applying Red Label Insulating Liner Paper

  1. Ensure that base surfaces are clean, dry, firm and free from any loose or flaking material.
  2. Apply the adhesive generously to the wall using a roller. As a guide we recommend 2.5Kg of paste per roll, more if the base surface is uneven or textured, where it is especially important to apply a thick bed of adhesive. Cover an area sufficient to apply one length of Insulating Lining Paper at a time ensuring the pasted area exceeds the width of the Insulating Lining Paper.
Use a brush or spatula to apply adhesive to areas the roller cannot reach.
  3. The expanded polystyrene side of the product should be applied to the adhesive/wall. Apply Insulating Lining Paper directly from the roll onto the wet adhesive and slide into place. Smooth out any bubbles with a roller or similar. Leave a small amount of surplus material for trimming where necessary.
  4. Cut off any excess material at the ceiling, floors and corners using a trimming knife in combination with a forming board. On external corners the exposed edge of the material can be filled and sanded with flexible filler to give a neat finish - especially useful if you do not intend to overhang with Wallrock Fibreliner.
  5. Allow 48 hours for drying, longer if conditions are especially humid or cold. We also recommend that all wallcoverings are allowed to dry naturally and therefore recommend that heating is turned off whilst the wallcovering adhesive dries out, unless ambient temperatures are likely to drop below 10°C/50°F.
  6. Any small gaps at seams and corners can be filled with flexible filler prior to painting directly with standard emulsion paint or overhanging with decorative wallpaper.
    OR....
  7. After filling any small gaps at seams you may wish to improve and strengthen the surface further by cross lining. For this we recommend Wallrock Fibreliner which has exceptional strength and is very easy to apply. Complete the project by painting or overhanging with decorative wallpaper.
NB: For consistent results we recommend using Paste The Wall products over Insulating Lining Paper.

Adhesive
We recommend our Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive for application of Red Label Insulating Lining Paper or other solvent free adhesives suitable for hanging polystyrene wallcoverings. However, we cannot unfortunately accept responsibility for adhesion problems when an adhesive other than Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive has been used.

This is a simple wallpaper calculator and should be used as a guide only. You can find the roll width and roll length you are after on the specific product page.
Roll widths are provided in meters (such as 0.5 x 10mtr) so your wall widths and heights should be inputted in meters also.
If you are purchasing an offset match product then you may need a little extra as there may be some waste. If you have any windows or doors in your walls you can simply ignore these. This will give a good estimate of required roll numbers.
