Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ is a brand new product that utilizes the natural reflectivity of graphite combined with polystyrene cells to create an effective energy saving insulating wallcovering. It has been approved by the Energy Saving Trust due to its thermal efficiency and energy saving properties. The material is treated with a fire retardant.

Made from a 4mm thick layer of BASF expanded polystyrene, infused with graphite particles and laminated to a reinforced backing, Graphite+ delivers 20% better insulation performance than standard Insulating Lining Paper. This is equivalent to having an extra 26cm of concrete on your walls over and above an insulating lining paper.

The special graphite particles act like thousands of mirrors reflecting radiant heat back into the room and thus reducing heat loss and energy bills. Graphite+ is a paste the wall product which makes it easier use. Furthermore the product is extremely effective in disguising uneven and defective wall surfaces.

  • Laminated Polystyrene with graphite components to increase heat saving properties.
  • Graphite components increase material stability and strength.
  • Resists damp and mould formation on problem walls.
  • Twice as thick as regular polystyrene wall veneers.
  • For quick and effective insulation of inside walls.
  • Supplied ready laminated to a reinforced liner
  • Reduces external noise pollution.
  • CFC free.
  • Fire rated.

Upgrade the fire resistance of Insulating Lining Paper Graphite Plus to BS Class 1 by using our new Wallrock Thermal FR Adhesive and overhang with Wallrock Fireliner lining paper. See the Fire Certificate by clicking here

This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes inside your home unless the surface is further treated with a fire retardant covering. This product is class E fire rated and should not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building regulations are applicable.

"The winter heating bills have been halved; the general comfort levels have more than doubled. Outer walls quickly feel warm to the touch. I am very glad I invested in this product."

Customer Testimonial

Polystyrene Without Graphite

Heat transfer through conventional polystyrene.

Polystyrene with Graphite

Improved insulation using polystyrene with graphite.

Graphite insulation comparison

4mm eps polystyrene foam has the same insulation effect as an 85mm brick, 98mm sandstone block or 262mm concrete.

Important Safety Information

Compliance with Building Regulations and Fire Safety
This product should not be used in isolation for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building Regulations are applicable. If used as part of a system that both adds to the insulation value and protects the surface from fire it may be compliant but expert advice should be sought.
Fire resistance can be improved to meet Building Regulations by using in conjunction with the Wallrock Fireliner system, cross lining the surface with Wallrock Fireliner and using Wallrock Fireliner FR Adhesive to apply both products. This improves the performance of the system to a BS Class 1 which satisfies Building Regulations in relation to wallpapers used in Residential Accommodation (including garages).

Fire Safety
When used in isolation this product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ only for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes or on ceilings

Preparation
Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing such surfaces.

We strongly recommend using our Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive for application of this product, and can unfortunatley not accept responsibility for adhesion problems when an alternative adhesive has been used.

For the perfect finish, overhang with Wallrock Fibreliner ® or other suitable product from the Wallrock family.

Single length: 7.5m x 0.5m coverage: 3.75m² approx

  1. Ensure that base surfaces are clean, dry, firm and free from any loose or flaking material.
  2. Apply the adhesive generously to the wall using a roller. As a guide we recommend up to 2.5Kg of paste per roll, more if the base surface is uneven or textured, where it is especially important to apply a thick bed of adhesive. Cover an area sufficient to apply one length of Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ at a time ensuring the pasted area exceeds the width of the Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+. Use a brush or spatula to apply adhesive to areas the roller cannot reach.
  3. The expanded polystyrene side of the product should be applied to the adhesive/wall. Apply Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ directly from the roll onto the wet adhesive and slide into place. Smooth out any bubbles with a roller or similar. Leave a small amount of surplus material for trimming where necessary.
  4. Cut off any excess material at the ceiling, floors and corners using a trimming knife in combination with a forming board. On external corners the exposed edge of the material can be filled and sanded with flexible filler to give a neat finish.
  5. Allow 48 hours for drying, longer if conditions are especially humid or cold. We also recommend that Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ is allowed to dry naturally and therefore recommend that heating is turned off whilst the wallcovering adhesive dries out, unless ambient temperatures are likely to drop below 10°c/50°F.
  6. Any small gaps at seams and corners can be filled with flexible filler.
  7. We recommend that the Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ is lined with ‘Wallrock Fibreliner’, (this product is very strong, durable and dimensionally stable and compliments the Insulating Lining Paper Graphite+ perfectly). The resulting surface is ready for painting or overhung with textured or printed wallcoverings.

Adhesive
We recommend Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive for application of this product or other solvent free adhesives suitable for hanging polystyrene veneers. However, we cannot unfortunately accept responsibility for adhesion problems when an adhesive other than Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive has been used.

Important
Inspect rolls carefully before beginning as we cannot accept claims for consequential loss in respect of any defects apparent prior to hanging. Every effort is made to ensure all rolls reach you in perfect condition, but faults can occur from time to time. Please retain all labels until the project is complete and you are satisfied with the results - we will require them in the unlikely event you encounter a problem we recommend that after hanging no more than 2 lengths, the result is inspected before continuing.

This is a simple wallpaper calculator and should be used as a guide only. You can find the roll width and roll length you are after on the specific product page.
Roll widths are provided in meters (such as 0.5 x 10mtr) so your wall widths and heights should be inputted in meters also.
If you are purchasing an offset match product then you may need a little extra as there may be some waste. If you have any windows or doors in your walls you can simply ignore these. This will give a good estimate of required roll numbers.
